What moves the price

Most of a small job is design time, not plastic. These are the things that push a quote up or down.

  • Design time

Copying a part you send is quicker than modelling one from photos, and designing something new takes longest.

  • Size and material

Big parts and engineering materials like carbon-fibre nylon cost more. Compare the materials.

  • Quantity

Batches are priced per part, and each part gets cheaper as the quantity goes up.

  • Electronics and code

LEDs, switches, wiring and firmware are priced on top of the printed part. More on electronics.

How a job goes

You see a price and a 3D preview before anything gets printed, and you try a prototype before we make the final parts.

  1. Send the problem

Photos, a sketch, rough measurements, or the broken part itself in the mail. Quotes are free.

    Reply within a day
  2. We model it

You get a price and a 3D preview to look over and approve.

We print a prototype for you to try in place. If it’s off, we adjust and reprint.

    2 to 5 days

Common questions

About prices, timing and getting your parts.

Are quotes really free?
Yes. Describe the problem, add photos or files, and we reply within a day with a price or a few questions.
Do the prices include tax?
No. Prices are before tax, and every price is confirmed before we start.
How long does it take?
Most single parts take about a week. Modelling takes 1 to 3 days, the test fit 2 to 5, and the final parts depend on how many you need.
What if it doesn’t fit?
You try a test print in place before we make the final parts. If it’s off, we adjust and reprint.
Do I have to send the broken part?
No. Photos with a ruler in the shot and a few measurements work for most parts, though the part itself helps most. How to photograph a part.
Can you print a file I already have?
Yes. Attach STL, STEP or 3MF files to the form, and tell us the material and how many you need.
Can I pick my parts up?
Yes, in Sault Ste. Marie. We also ship anywhere in Canada.
Can you make more than one?
Yes, from a couple of spares to runs of a few hundred. Prototypes and small batches.
