Custom LED lighting and electronics Lights, switches and sensors, built into the part.
A printed part can do more than hold its shape. We design the housing around the electronics, so the light comes out where you want it and the wiring disappears. Then we write the firmware that runs it.
For cars, boats, homes and workshops. Built and programmed in Sault Ste. Marie, shipped anywhere in Canada.
- LEDs
- COB and addressable RGB strip, 12 V or plug-in
- Brains
- ESP32 and Arduino
- Software
- ESPHome firmware, Home Assistant and phone control
- Lit trim or a switch panel
- Usually $150 to $450, firmware from $120
A line of light, not a row of dots.
Stick an LED strip under a cabinet and you see every LED. The fix is distance and diffusion: the strip sits deep in a channel, under a lens thin enough to glow evenly.
- COB strip, with the LEDs packed so close there are no dots to hide.
- A translucent PETG lens, 1.1 mm thick, that snaps in with no screws on show.
- A black ASA housing that blocks stray light and stands up to heat and sunlight.
- Shaped to your panel, so it follows a curve instead of bridging it.
| Item | Part | Made from |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Diffuser lens | Translucent PETG, 1.1 mm wall, so the strip reads as one line |
| 2 | Snap groove | The lens clicks in; no screws on show |
| 3 | Housing | Black ASA, so it holds up to heat and sunlight |
| 4 | LED strip | 8 mm COB, 12 V, dimmable |
| 5 | Mounting tape | 3M VHB, 1 mm |
| 6 | Your panel | The housing is modelled to follow its curve |
Where it goes
These are the kinds of electronics jobs we take on, from one light to a whole panel of switches.
Cars, trucks and boats
Footwell and dash trim lighting, switch panels for light bars and compressors, and fused 12 V harnesses. More on car parts.
Kitchens and stairs
Under-cabinet channels on a dimmer, and stair lights that fade up when someone’s on them.
Workshops and garages
Backlit switch panels, bench lighting, and lights that come on with the garage door.
Signs and displays
Backlit logos and lettering up to 600 mm across, with the light windows colour-swapped into the print.
Sensors and alarms
Housings for ESP32 boards and off-the-shelf sensors, like a sensor that warns you when the freezer warms up.
Motors
Blinds that open at sunrise, a feeder on a schedule, and the brackets and couplings that hold a small motor in place.
We write the code too.
Norcode started as a software shop, so the electronics don’t stop at wiring. We write the firmware that makes a part smart, and connect it to the things you already use.
- Lights that react
Stairs that light up as you climb them, footwells that fade up when a car door opens, a workshop that switches on with the garage door.
- Control from your phone
Colour, brightness and scenes over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
- Home Assistant and ESPHome
Your project shows up on your dashboard next to everything else.
- Motors and sensors
Blinds that open at sunrise, a feeder on a schedule, or a sensor that warns you when the freezer warms up.

Wiring you can service
The part that fails first in most homemade lighting is the wiring. We build it like someone will need to fix it one day.
- Fused circuits
Every circuit gets a fuse sized to its wire, so a short blows a fuse, not a harness.
- Real connectors
Plugs you can undo instead of twisted wires and tape, so a part comes out without cutting anything.
- Strain relief
Cables are held where they leave a part, so the solder joints never take the pull.
- Labels and a diagram
Wires labelled at both ends, with a wiring diagram for whoever works on it next.
What electronics jobs usually cost
Every job gets its own quote, and quotes are free.
